Monuments, Headstones, & Footstones
Monuments or headstones are traditional for burials in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim religions, among others. In most cases they have the deceased’s name, date of birth, and date of death inscribed on them, along with a personal message, or prayer, but they may contain pieces of funerary art.
A footstone is a marker at the foot of a grave. The footstone lies opposite the headstone, which is usually the primary grave marker. As indicated, these markers are usually stone or bronze. The footstone may simply mark the foot of a grave, serving as a boundary marker for the grave plot, but more often provide additional information about the interred decedent. A footstone usually contains the name and information about the person whose grave it marks. Willowbrook has a monument display onsite that may help you in your decision process. Our vendors will work with you to select, create and design your stone.
There is an additional fee for creating the foundation from cement, and the cost is based on the size of the stone, and the work involved.
