Dear Doran family,
My family and I were so sadly struck to learn of Rachel Doran’s death after such a monumental battle with a devastating illness. As the news began to grip me with such sadness, I also was drawn back to my best memory of time with Rachel and her family picnicking with our family at Compo Beach on a beautiful summer night. Rachel was a beautiful middle-school teenager brimming with life and warmth— gentle and kind, and so extraordinarily bright and busy with her life (running her small fashion-business from which we got our comfy flannel pj bottoms)— and so kind, gentle and patient with her beautiful little sister that night on the beach. What an extraordinary child she is, I thought, on that warm summer night about 5 years ago.

For Rachel’s mourning parents, sister and family, Rachel lives on in us in her beautiful and boundless spirit always. We are thinking of you and praying with you and for you, and send you our love and deepest sympathies.
