NORWALK, CONN
Constance D.R. (Terry) Wilds was born July 22, 1941 in Stamford, CT to the late Robert and Margaret Terry. She was the eldest of four siblings.
Connie graduated from the Stamford Public Schools system and continued her education at Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, OH where she received her B.A. in Psychology and her M.A. Degree from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT along with a second Master's Degree in Psychology.
Connie worked at C.T.E. in Stamford as an administrator before moving on to Western State University, Danbury, CT where she was a professor of Black Studies and then later became Dean of Student Affairs. She spent over thirty plus years of service at West Conn U., before retiring and making Florida her second home.
Her community affiliations included The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and was amongst a handful of pioneers who created the Afro-Democratic Committee in Stamford.
Connie was the perfect embodiment of a faithful Christian and loved singing in the church choir at Bethel A.M.E., often rendering solos. She was a serious person and sometimes very witty and she did it "her way."
Besides her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Terry, Connie was predeceased by a sister, Edna Davis.
She leaves to cherish her son, William Wilds (Daisi), her two sisters, Ina Cameron-Winn and Hilda Terry, a brother-in-law and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Connie will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held Friday March 27, 2020 at Graves Medley Funeral Services, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, CT.
Visitation from 10:00AM - 11:00AM a service at 11:00AM.
Due to current CDC Federal guidelines in keeping with public safety standards, the family is holding a PRIVATE entombment here at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
