Obituary of Gladys Joyce Decoteau

WEST HAVEN, CONN Joyce G. Decoteau, age 89 of Fairfield, CT beloved wife of the late Roland Decoteau, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home. She was born in London, England on April 30, 1930 and came to the States as a young woman on the Queen Elizabeth. Prior to her retirement, Gladys worked for many years as a waitress at the Blue Bird Inn, G. Fox and The Town Squire. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren as well as enjoyed traveling and seeing shows. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. Joyce is survived by her two beloved children, Jeffrey Decoteau and his wife Dawn of West Haven and Barbara Almonacid and her husband Paul of Monroe, Grandchilren, Nicole and Michael Almonacid, Jordan and Danny Decoteau and two Great Grandchildren, Sophia Almonacid-Benton and Bryson Decoteau. Due to current CDC Federal guidelines in keeping with public safety standards, the family is holding a private interment here at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
