Obituary of Joseph Sorstein

WESTPORT, CONN Joseph Sorstein, 84, of Westport CT died January 31, 2021. The "silver fox" was the soulmate of Betts (Elizabeth Ann Shick) for 58 years. Loving father of Caroline and Emily, brother of Anne Budowsky, and brother-in-law of Linda Aaronson. Born in Turkey and raised in Israel, Joe emigrated to the United States where he received a BS from Queens College and an MBA from Columbia University. His lifelong fascination with world politics and economics was ultimately the most satisfying aspect of his long business career. He lived and worked in Switzerland, France, and England before settling back in the U.S. Always up for a new adventure, Joe was fearless and direct tempered by a disarming gentleness and warmth. How much we will miss him. Joe's entombment took place here at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport. The Harding Funeral Home of Westport, directed the arrangements.
