NORWALK, CONN
Joyce Marie Vingo Backiel, 80, of Norwalk, Connecticut died on May 1, 2022.
Mrs. Backiel was born in Norwalk on November 12, 1941 to Joseph Anthony and Luella Mae Bennett Vingo.
She is survived by her husband, James Peter Backiel and son Christopher Scott Backiel.
Joyce was predeceased by her sisters, Carol-Jean Vingo, Virginia Rose Vingo, Joan Vingo Bonanni; and her brother Joseph Vingo.
After graduating from Norwalk High School, Mrs. Backiel worked as a travel agent. She worked at Penny Publications in Norwalk for over thirty years.
Services and committal will be at the Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00am.
The Edmund W. Dougiello Funeral Home is in charge.
