Obituary of Louis F. Bianchini

NORWALK, CONN Louis "Lou" Bianchini, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2022, after a remarkably valiant 2 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. He was 84 years old. He was predeceased by two cherished wives, Rosemarie Bianchini, mother of his 2 children, Karen Bianchini, of Manhattan, and Steven Bianchini, (predeceased); and second wife, Marianne Howard, who passed away last year. He considered himself very fortunate to have found two incredible women at very different stages in life and to have shared so many wonderful years with the trusted partners and friends they each were. Lou was born in Brooklyn on October 17, 1937. His parents, Jeanne and Anthony, younger brother, Anthony, as well as so many aunts, uncles, and cousins, gave Louis a strong sense of character, family, and traditions, and he carried it forward with his tremendous heart and high spirit, and in being a very giving, active and fun father. After attending New York School of Printing and graduating from City College, Lou proudly served 2 years in the US Army, stationed overseas as an army photographer. He built a fulfilling, successful career in Advertising, direct mail, and media, holding senior management positions at John Blair Marketing, Metro Media, Marketing Corporation of America in Westport, and several consulting and volunteer positions in later years. He enjoyed his career so much for its creativity, took pride in cultivating sales teams, and interacting with clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. Lou was proud to have maintained many close friendships from all parts of his life, some for more than 60 years, and he and his family are so grateful for all of their deep love and support throughout his illness. Lou raised his young family in Merrick, NY, and then moved to Westport, CT in 1984 for 18 years, then lived several years in both Palm Coast and Boca Raton, Florida, Branford, CT, and happily returned back to the Westport area for the past three years. His daughter Karen especially appreciated her father for his very warm heart, age defying looks and enthusiasm, witty sense of humor, and his always on point, sage advice, foresight, and perspective, reflecting that it was always spot on. Her dad was her close friend and confidante, and she feels honored to have been able to spend her dad's last year and a half right by his side. A special thank you to Dr. Harold Tara, Tara Franco, Andrea Brennan, and the very caring team at Yale's Smilow Cancer Hospital in Trumbull. Dr. Tara's delicate balance of optimism and realism, experience, and sensitivity makes him the ideal oncologist, and was the perfect match for Lou's personality in this tumultuous journey. Compassus Hospice of Milford and their very responsive, compassionate team of nurses, Michelle, Michael, and Sandra gave us the guidance and strength to navigate the specialized end of life home care. Lou is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lorraine Connors of the Villages, FL; and sisters-in-law, Prudence Carter and Marianne Balin, of Colorado; brother-in-law, Peter Carter, of NC; and several nieces and nephews. The Malvasio and Chittenden families of Westport and Janet Seide, of VA, are the true meaning of family. Lou was also predeceased by his brother, Anthony Codianni, of Newport Beach, CA; in-laws, Tom Connors, Frank and Frances Riceputo; sister-in-law, Kathleen Savino all of Florida. Lou's big happy smile, hearty laugh, upbeat nature, and his incredible resilience and strength even in life's challenges are how he will best be remembered. He was a man who loved a plan, loved to travel, play golf, cook and entertain, find quaint towns and restaurants, and have a great scenic lunch and a martini. He was loved by so many of all ages, and made an indelible impression in our hearts and memory. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service. Interment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
