Obituary of Frances S. MacHale

TRUMBULL, CONN MacHale, Frances MacGregor age 94 entered into eternal life on 10/16/2022. She was born in Charleston, SC on November 4th, 1927 to the late Francis and Orena Smith. She was predeceased by her husband Donald MacHale , her daughter, Susan Hartsig Lek, and her first husband, Robert Hartsig. She is survived by her three daughters, Roberta Hartsig Ramik of Indian Lake Estates, FL., Virginia Hartsig Damio of Trumbull, CT and Nancy Hartsig Dennert of Southington, CT. Also, her son in-laws, Samuel Lek of NY, NY., Frank Loren Dennert, and her stepson, D.J. MacHale (Eve). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren. David Damio (Jena), Christopher Damio (Christine), Charles Lek, Mathew Dennert (Selma), and Rachel Dennert (Kyle). Robin Ramik (Tony), Renea Trujillo (Joe), and Roxanne Boyle (Bryan). As well as 6 great grandchildren. Frances was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp. and a graduate of the School of Nursing of the Medical University of S.C. She was a charter member of the Rebecca Moft chapter of the D.A.R. in Charleston, S.C. She was also “Mrs. Westport” in the Mrs. America contest. A celebration of her life will be at Grace Church, 5958 Main Street, Trumbull on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 2:00pm. Interment will be held privately in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Frances’s memory may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or the Salvation Army.
