It's been almost a year since Paul's passing and I miss him and think of him everyday. Paul was a wonderful guy, highly intelligent, loving, kind, caring, a lot of fun and great company. We were brothers in law, but more like brothers. We spent many vacations together with our families and often he made the trek halfway across the country to visit, which was greatly appreciated. Paul loved being very active, traveling and exploring. At the same time, he was content listening to music or reading a book in the sun. When he first became sick more than a decade earlier, the outpouring of love from hundreds of concerned friends, coworkers and patients was overwhelming. Through his work, he enhanced thousands of lives. His caring spirit with all people he interacted with marks a life truly well lived.

So very sorry to hear of Dr. Wiener's passing. I actually only heard about it today, 5/27/23 while at the Westport Arts Festival - hoping to bump into him as I had for so many years - at Tracy Hambley's booth. It was Tracy who told me that Dr. Wiener had died. Took me totally by surprise. He had been my doctor for 20 years and I last saw him almost a year ago in July of '22 when I had my last appointment and he was retiring. We mostly talked for 45 minutes - updates on my children and my writing etc. He was a wonderful man. Always showing concern and interest about all things, not just my physical well being. I was already missing him as my doctor and will miss him more knowing he is no longer here. Condolences and love to Nancy and his daughters.

Dr. Wiener had been my doctor for 26 years upon his retirement (he took care of my dad until his death in 1992) He was a very intelligent, caring, and patient doctor. I last saw him in May and loved to listen to him talk about his retirement that he so deserved. He was looking forward to not rushing in the mornings anymore and sleeping in, traveling, spending time with his wife and girls, and hopefully becoming a grandpa. I loved our conversations and I always felt well taken care of and not afraid of my kidney issues when I was with him; I told him he couldn't retire because I would never find another doctor like him. He truly gave his life for his patients and loved what he did. I am saddened to know he did not get to enjoy all that he was looking forward to. I send my sympathies to his wife, children, and family during this very difficult time. Know that your husband and father was an amazing doctor and man and will forever be by your sides watching over you. You will have a forever angel. I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing him!
