WESTPORT, CONN
Edward F Rogers, 86, of Westport CT passed away on Thursday March 23, 2023.
Edward was born on June 2, 1936 in Binghamton, NY to Frank (Chucks) and Lucy Rogers. He married his loving wife and one true love, JoAnn Adamski Rogers on June 20, 1959. They spent the next 62 years together until her passing.
Edward is remembered with love by his two daughters, Michelle Byrne and Karen Houseworth; sons-in-law, Eugene Byrne and Mark Yingling; three grandchildren, Lauren Byrne, Sydney and Edward Houseworth; one great grandson, Charles Cook; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Gloria Avedisian; and his brother-in-law, Archie Avedisian.
Edward had a long and successful career at IBM and retired as a Senior Executive and Corporate Officer. Throughout his career he held many financial positions at CHQ headquarters and led various lines of business. He later went on to open his own consulting firm and retired in 2001.
Edward had a sharp mind and always knew how to make a company profitable. He had many accomplishments in his long career. He treasured his family and enjoyed every moment with them. He especially loved his grandchildren, who affectionately named him "Poppy". He loved going to their sporting events and all of their friends and teammates, knew and loved Poppy. He had a big personality, and his presence was never missed. Edward was a devout Catholic and a member of St Luke's Parish. He lived his life with integrity, leadership and love. He was class act and will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St Luke's Parish, 49 North Turkey Hill Road North, Westport, CT. Burial will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
