NORWALK, CONN
Barbara Ann Licker, long time Westport resident, and beloved wife of the late Robert Licker, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born in New Rochelle, NY on April 3, 1933 to the late Victor and Martha (Golden) Breitweiser.
Barbara graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School, Brooklyn, NY in 1950. She spent her career, as an executive secretary, working for GTE for over 10 years, then Mercedez Benz Credit Corp for another ten plus years. She made many life long friends at both companies. Her most heartfelt position after she retired was Americares, where she volunteered her time at the Free Clinic in South Norwalk from 2001 until 2012. During this tenure she won Volunteer of the Year. She was also on the Board of Directors for The League of Women Voters of Westport for 2011-2012. She was elected one of the Vice Presidents for Program/Advocacy.
She spent many weekends with family skiing Bromley andOkemo with the Norwalk Ski Club. She played Tennis and Bridge. After retirement she was able to travel to London, Wales, Ireland, Greece, Galapagos Islands and Turkey.
Above all she was most proud of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son Jay Fiore and his wife Stacy, and her daughter Kelly Fiore Stanyon and her husband Tom: her cherished grandchildren; Cooper and Mason Fiore, Nichole (Ryan) Stanley and Brittney Church, and great grandchildren Addison and Weston Stanley. She also leaves behind step children David Aaron (Elene), Regina Rexon (Rick) and grandchildren Avery and Jordan Aaron and Heather Rexon.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday February 20, 11:00am at St Lukes Church, 49 Turkey Hill Rd. N. in Westport, CT. Burial will be held on Wednesday February 21, 12:30pm at Willowbrook Cemetery 395 Main St. Westport, CT.
