NORWALK, CONN James Lester Brockwell, a Westport resident since 1975, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born on March 20, 1937, in Lansing, MI, to the late Lester and Ruth (Ervin) Brockwell. He attended J.W. Sexton High School, graduating with the class of 1955. James then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until he was honorably discharged. James attended Western Michigan University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration. James was employed by Dow Chemical and spent nearly 40 years at Ampacet Corporation, where he worked his way up to become Vice President of Strategic Accounts, North America, helping sales exceed over one billion in revenue. Ampacet's annual top salesman award is named after him. He actively participated in golf and was an avid hunter. He was a member of Longshore G.C. and spent many years working there as the ranger. He was a member of the Y's Men of Westport. In addition to his wife, Melinda (Cade) Brockwell, he is survived by his three sons: Mark Brockwell (Sharon), Greg Brockwell (Cynthia), and Kurt Brockwell (Anne-Marie), as well as a stepdaughter, Carin Fallon (Greg). He also leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren: Danny, Kristen, Brian, Carley, Courtney, Colleen, Cole, Emma, Lauren, Tyler, and Maggie. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Willowbrook Cemetery, Main St., Westport, CT.
